Cline (Cline Bot Inc.) builds an open-source AI coding agent and agent runtime that developers can use in their editor, in the terminal, as a standalone desktop app, or embed in their own products through an SDK. The agent supports Plan and Act modes, MCP tools and any model provider, so teams can pick frontier models or cheaper open-weight models per task. Its site reports more than 11 million installs and about 70,000 GitHub stars. In October 2026 CEO Renee Huang told SiliconANGLE that Cline's token consumption had grown 20x over four months, driven by open-weight models largely served on CoreWeave, and that the company has open-sourced its evaluations for open-weight agents.
