AI and robotics screening to catch counterfeit and flawed electronic components
Chiplytics is a Seattle startup that authenticates and quality-screens semiconductor chips and other critical electronic components, detecting counterfeits, substitutions and suspect parts before they are assembled into products. It combines AI, automation and robotics to screen every part in an order rather than sampling, and also helps manufacturers source hard-to-find components through a curated network of distributors with risk-scored offers. Founded in 2022 by CEO Steven Dourmashkin and president Stephen DiBartolomeo, with CTO Connor Dempsey, it developed its platform with Sandia National Laboratories through a US Department of Energy program and validated it with the US Army, Navy and Air Force. In October 2026 it announced $4.5 million in funding, including a $2.5 million seed led by Scout Ventures and Waypoint Ventures and a $2 million Air Force award, and opened an inspection facility in Bellport, New York.
