Modular blockchain network for data availability, now launching Eden for AI-agent commerce
Celestia is a modular blockchain network that provides data availability so developers can deploy their own chains and rollups with high throughput. The project began as LazyLedger, co-founded in 2019 by Mustafa Al-Bassam, Ismail Khoffi and John Adler, with Nick White joining as COO, and is built by Celestia Labs. In September 2024 the Celestia Foundation raised $100 million led by Bain Capital Crypto, bringing total funding to $155 million. On October 16, 2026 Celestia launched Eden, an EVM-compatible chain built on the Evolve stack that uses Celestia for data availability and TIA as gas, as a sandbox for AI-agent payments and trading.
