About

Blaze Energy (Blaze Energy Technologies) develops a compact onboard fuel reformer for maritime shipping. Its electrically heated catalyst splits alternative fuels such as ammonia, methanol or LNG into a hydrogen-rich gas that is blended back with the fuel and conventional shipping fuel, helping it burn more completely in existing engines without modifying them; if the reformer stops, the ship can revert to conventional fuel. The first product focuses on ammonia reforming and is designed as a bolt-on retrofit installed during routine dry-docking, with a newbuild version in development with engine manufacturers. Blaze has partnered with Lomarlabs and Lomar Shipping to pilot the system aboard a Lomar vessel in 2027 and targets commercial rollout in 2028. In October 2026 it announced a $6.5 million seed round to fund engine testing, maritime certification and expansion in the U.S. and Norway. Rok Sitar is CEO and co-founder.
