Authors First is a New York book-to-screen studio and distribution platform that adapts books into film and TV with authors retaining creative control and final-cut approval. Founded by Robert Hamwee, it uses a human-led, AI-enabled production model for character creation, scripting, storyboarding and virtual cinematography. In October 2026 it launched with more than $10 million in seed funding led by Brand Foundry and founder Robert Hamwee, with participation from Bolt Ventures and other backers.
