Atlas Atomics is a stealth-mode US nuclear startup developing improved heavy-water reactor technology that doesn't rely on enriched uranium, aiming to deliver steady power, produce medical and industrial isotopes and help recycle nuclear fuel. It is led by co-founder Kevin Gan, formerly an energy investor at Millennium and D.E. Shaw, and was co-founded and backed by Vivek Ramaswamy; former Oak Ridge National Laboratory COO Balendra Sutharshan is chief nuclear officer. Bloomberg reported in October 2026 that it raised about $400M in a Series A led by General Catalyst with Andreessen Horowitz; the company declined to comment.
