Autonomous software testing platform built on deterministic simulation
Antithesis is a Northern Virginia software testing company that brings deterministic simulation testing, a technique its founders developed while building the FoundationDB database, to any complex or distributed system. Customers deploy their whole system, including dependencies, into the Antithesis simulator, which runs massively parallel, fully deterministic simulations, injects realistic faults, checks the system against invariants the team defines, and reproduces any bug it finds exactly so engineers can debug it. It is pitched at verifying every pull request, including code written by AI agents. Will Wilson and Dave Scherer founded the company in 2018; it emerged from stealth in February 2024 with $47 million in seed funding and in December 2025 raised a $105 million Series A led by Jane Street, which is also a customer. Other publicly named users include MongoDB and the Ethereum network, which used it ahead of The Merge.
