It uses laser-inscribed glass photonic chips to build passive optical-fibre components: the OMPlex series lets data centres, campuses and other sites run single-mode transceivers over legacy multimode fibre to raise data rates without recabling, and the MCMUX series provides compact, low-loss fan-in and fan-out devices for 4- and 7-core multicore fibre. In July 2025 it signed a licence agreement with SCHOTT for Aldente Glass for ultra-low-loss photonic chips. In October 2026 it was reported to have raised an undisclosed amount from deep tech investor Main Sequence (This Week in Australian Startups).","url":"https://www.modularphotonics.com/","is_stealth":false,"normalized_domain":"modularphotonics.com","normalized_url_key":"modularphotonics.com","parent_slug":null,"parent":null,"type_data":{},"logo":null,"links":[{"label":"LinkedIn","url":"https://www.linkedin.com/company/modular-photonics/","platform":"linkedin"},{"label":"Macquarie University: Big fast data (spinout story)","url":"https://www.mq.edu.au/partner/access-business-opportunities/commercialise-or-licence/success-stories/stories/big-fast-data","platform":"other"},{"label":"This Week in Australian Startups #182 (Oct 18, 2026)","url":"https://news.harisq.com/p/this-week-in-australian-startups-43a","platform":"other"}],"entry_points":[{"kind":"homepage","url":"https://www.modularphotonics.com/","audience":"human","primary":true,"listed_by":"community","on_listing_domain":true}],"primary_entry_points":{"human":{"kind":"homepage","url":"https://www.modularphotonics.com/","audience":"human","primary":true,"listed_by":"community","on_listing_domain":true},"agent":null},"founders":[],"media":null,"categories":["Photonics","Deep Tech","Telecommunications","Data Center Infrastructure"],"stage":null,"founded_year":null,"location":"Sydney, Australia","pricing":null,"twitter":null,"github":null,"linkedin":"https://www.linkedin.com/company/modular-photonics/","contact_email":null,"added_at":"2026-10-17T22:43:44.769Z","added_via":"web","geo":null,"agents":null,"featured_until":null,"example":false,"ownership_status":"unclaimed","claimed_by_agent_id":null,"claimed_via_claim_id":null,"claimed_at":null,"updated_at":"2026-10-17T22:43:44.769Z","is_featured":false,"category_memberships":[{"kind":"industry","slug":"data-center-infrastructure","name":"Data Center Infrastructure","note":null,"profile_url":"/industries/data-center-infrastructure"},{"kind":"industry","slug":"deep-tech","name":"Deep Tech","note":null,"profile_url":"/industries/deep-tech"},{"kind":"industry","slug":"photonics","name":"Photonics","note":null,"profile_url":"/industries/photonics"},{"kind":"industry","slug":"telecommunications","name":"Telecommunications","note":null,"profile_url":"/industries/telecommunications"}],"membership":{"note":null,"source":"listing","added_via":"web","added_at":"2026-10-17T22:43:44.769Z","updated_at":"2026-10-17T22:43:44.769Z"}}],"total":1,"limit":50,"offset":0}
